Job description
The MEPF BIM Modeler is responsible for developing, updating, and coordinating accurate BIM models for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting (MEPF) systems.
The role ensures that MEPF models are execution-ready, clash-free, and compliant with BIM standards and project requirements.
The MEPF BIM Modeler supports interdisciplinary coordination, documentation, and construction outputs through high-quality BIM modeling.
Responsibilities:
1. MEPF BIM Model Development
• Develop detailed MEPF BIM models in Autodesk Revit as per drawings, specifications, and BEP
• Model Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Fighting systems accurately
• Maintain required Level of Development (LOD) as per project stage
• Ensure models are suitable for coordination and construction use
2. Model Quality, Accuracy & Standards
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of MEPF BIM models
• Follow company BIM standards, templates, and naming conventions
• Ensure correct use of levels, grids, coordinates, and worksets
• Prevent modeling errors and inconsistencies
3. Inter-Discipline Coordination & Clash Support
• Coordinate MEPF models with Architectural and Structural BIM models
• Participate in clash detection using Navisworks
• Implement approved clash resolutions
• Support coordination reviews and meetings
4. Drawing, Quantity & Output Preparation
• Prepare coordinated layouts, shop drawings, and construction drawings
• Extract quantities, schedules, and BOQs from BIM models
• Ensure drawings are clear, accurate, and execution-ready
5. Change Management & Version Control
• Update models based on design changes, RFIs, and site inputs
• Ensure proper version control and file management
• Prevent usage of outdated models and drawings
6. Productivity & Timelines
• Complete assigned modeling tasks within agreed timelines
• Meet internal and client delivery schedules
• Maintain consistent output without compromising quality
7. Coordination with Team & Stakeholders
• Coordinate with BIM Coordinators and Team Leads
• Clarify BIM-related technical queries
• Support interdisciplinary coordination requirements
8. Reporting & Task Updates
• Submit regular task progress updates
• Highlight risks or delays impacting deliverables
• Maintain task logs and revision records
9. Continuous Improvement & Skill Development
• Upgrade BIM skills, tools, and workflows
• Follow best practices in BIM modeling
• Support process improvements and automation initiatives
10. Client Coordination, Site Support & Team Development
• Attend client meetings and client office visits for project discussions and progress reviews.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Conduct site visits as required by the client for verification, issue resolution, and project support.
• Lead and guide junior BIM modelers in daily project activities.
• Provide technical training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions to team members.
• Support resource planning and ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables.
